Modeling canopy cover and aboveground net primary production using soil factors in rangelands of Ardabil province, Iran

<p>Canopy cover (CC) and the aboveground net primary production (ANPP) vary under influence of various environmental factors. They underscore ecological sustainability different environment-human interactions. Towards this, present study aimed to model CC ANPP plant functional types (PFTs) their total using soil attributes in northwest (Ardabil province) rangelands Iran. According ecoregions factors, sampling was taken at peak stage growth from 2016 2020 1-m2 plots. For each transect, a sample transferred laboratory were measured. Maps prepared inverse distance weighting (IDW) method. Differences PFTs among analyzed paired t-test. Linear multiple regression used for modeling attributes. Total two ways (i.e., maps summing). The accuracy assessment calculated by criteria mean absolute error (MAE), deviation (MDE), root squared (RMSE). obtained results acceptable (value &lt; 7). difference between modeled measured values equal –0.03% grasses, –0.01% forbs, +0.03% shrubs, 0% total<sub>regression model</sub>, +0.06 total<sub>PFTs summing</sub>. Additionally, this terms 0 kg/ha +0.02 –0.09 –0.02 are applicable managing balance supply demand rangeland products they can be carbon management perspectives.</p>
